Be in your seat by 6

The way I understand it, there will be pre-match ceremonies on the field at that time, so you don’t want to miss it. Then the game will kickoff shortly thereafter, likely before 6:30.

Went to the end of practice today and the mood is pretty loose among the players and Sigi Schmid. I forgot to ask him about the news that Vancouver landed an expansion team but let me say that that is really good news for this region. Built-in rivalry right there, obviously, and soccer in two beautiful cities is always a good thing.

ALERT: Tickets remain available for the second game, March 28 vs. Real Salt Lake. It is fast approaching a sellout at 27,700.

Here’s the fellas kicking around at the end of today’s practice. That’s Tyrone Marshall getting set to hit one.

“It’s good, it’s exciting, we’re ready,” Schmid said today. “Obviously we’d like to have Freddie [Ljungberg] healthy and [Taylor] Graham healthy and Pete Vagenas healthy, but it is what it is and there’s other guys that have opportunities to play and they’re all professionals and they can all do a job. So we’re ready and the time is now.”

Rosters have been submitted to the league. The team has 23 players on the final roster including Jarrod Smith, who is on injured reserve. So 22 are eligible to play tomorrow but two of those, Graham and Vagenas, are out. That leaves Alonso, Brown, Evans, Eylander (injured, too but status unknown), Hurtado, Ianni, Jaqua, Keller, King, Le Toux, Levesque, Ljungberg (maybe), Marshall, Montero, Nyassi, Riley, Scott, Sturgis (also injured with status unknown) Wahl and Zakuani eligible to play.

Of course, you never know. Might be another transaction with one of the non-roster invitees but I’ll keep you posted.
