Sounders FC in New York Times…and this weather sucks

Here’s the New York Times piece. Nice read.

I don’t know how the boys did it out there today. It was raining/snowing at Starfire this morning and the temperature was around 35 degrees, and so Sigi Schmid cut practice short. It lasted no more than 90 minutes.

“My fingers were immobile the last 30 minutes,” defender Tyson Wahl told me.

The team is off to Toronto tomorrow on a direct flight. Nineteen players are making the trip, plus coaches and staff. Those not going to Toronto will practice tomorrow.

Well, my first appearance on KJR went fairly well. It was at 12:20. Toward the end there, I think I got a little nervous and had to clear my throat, but it sounds like this weekly thing is going to be well-received.
