First and foremost: IT IS SUPER WINDY HERE today and it will be interesting to see how much that affects balls in the air. I can see the whitecaps on Lake Ontario to my right, and there’s a fantastic view of the city from the press box here. See for yourself below.
UPDATE 12:01 pm Seattle time: Just did a walk around the stadium and spotted Drew Carey, without his glasses, down by the Sounders FC locker room talking to Adrian Hanauer and Chris Henderson. It’s an hour until kickoff, and the gates to the stadium have yet to be opened.
I walked around and checked out the scene. It’s no warmer than 45 degrees, at least that’s my feeling, and so it was pretty dead two hours before game time. The streetcar ride was nice. And a big group of security guards is gathered in the south end, poised to regulate on the Red Patch Boys and other supporters groups.
Here’s a view of where I am sitting. I’m high atop the second deck.
