Briefly analyzing the lineup change

The move to go with Zakuani over Le Toux is fairly easy to explain — Sounders FC needs some offense and Zakuani provides speed and a definite threat, so he’s in.

Sturgis in for Zach Scott, different situation. I wonder if the team saw Scott having a hard time in recent games, or getting beat on runs. Not really for me to say. Perhaps the team is looking for a burst and a change of pace on the back line as well.

Ben Dragavon spent this evening not in Seattle, but with the Columbus Crew as its emergency goalkeeper. The Crew, despite having a man advantage for more than half the second half and holding a 2-0 lead, ended up with a draw with next week’s Sounders FC opponent, the Chicago Fire.

One more thing, Josh Mayers, a Times employee, and I wondered why no cheerleaders or some kind of pep squad for Sounders FC. Saw that Columbus and Chivas USA have them. Anyone want to weigh in? Would that be a good fit in this game environment or not? REACTION.
