Yours truly on KJR at 12:20

It’s my weekly segment, so listen on in if you can.

The question has been posed about where the next U.S. Open Cup games will be held. My sense is that if Seattle wins the coin flip and gets to host the next play-in game vs. Colorado, it will be back at Starfire. I just don’t see the team moving Open Cup games to Qwest unless they get into the actual tournament and win the bid (teams must bid for games in the actual tournament) to host. I could see a quarterfinal match at Qwest, if not that than a semifinal game if Sounders FC advances that far.

I’ve not been given a clear answer about the matter. Anyway that’s just my opinion. We’ll see how it works itself out. The more games at home, whether at Starfire or Qwest, the more opportunity fans have to get a ticket. And as we know, tickets are in demand.
