My day in Chicago

It’s been a really nice day here. Saw “The Bean” at Millennium Park, the Polish Day Parade (chanted “POLSKA! POLSKA!” because I could), the Buckingham Fountain where the opening from “Married With Children” is shot, ate breakfast at the legendary Lou Mitchell’s.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco is pretty big here, so much so the has an ad board on the sideline that says “Nueva Cuauhtemina, Tarjeta Telefonica.” So I guess the dude has a phone card named after him. Cool.

Drew Carey is in town for this one and it is his suite. It’s full of friends and family, including Carey’s fiance.

They’re playing the theme from “Slumdog Millionaire” on the speakers. Small crowd here, I mean I don’t think this place is half full.

Final thing: Thanks to laurie-the offside for calling this to my attention: SoccerbyIves blog reports that the referee from the Columbus-Chicago game involving Blanco has been suspended two games by U.S. Soccer.
