Talked to Sebastien Le Toux about it after the game. It kind of got lost in all the talk about the officiating and style of play.
Le Toux made his sixth start of the season after coming off the bench the past two. He also had a great U.S. Open Cup game last month.
Jaqua and Zakuani were given assists, the third for each of them.
Le Toux said he was sure he wasn’t offside despite the protests from Galaxy coach Bruce Arena and the fact that it seemed the L.A. players were convinced he was, because they stopped playing.
“I was already running for a while,” Le Toux said. “I made like a ‘U’ to the other side and Stevie played a good ball into Nate…I was pretty lucky, like every time when I score.”
Le Toux explained why he went over to the bench after his goal. Before the game he promised assistant athletic trainer Chris Cornish he would go to him if he scored today, and that’s what happened.
