Sounders FC-Galaxy live game blog

Game on 12:05 pm

Jhon Kennedy Hurtado is down on the turf moments in after colliding with Galaxy player. He’s taken off to the side to clear his head.

3rd min — Hurtado trots back in.

Donovan knocks down Ljungberg 6th min.

-Donovan takes corner kick 8th min and sends it to Magee, his shot is open from top left of box but over the goal.

-11th min Zakuani pulled down in the box but no call, he makes a great effort to get back up and regain possession.

Pretty good shot on goal there for LA (17th min) but wide right.

Waiting for something to happen…

-IT DOES! Zakuani plays it through to Jaqua, who goes up to kick it over goalkeepers head. I thought they would call offsides, but Jaqua gets it to Le Toux who has a wide open net and all he had to do was tap it in. Bruce Arena goes nuts on the sideline as Le Toux celebrates with the Seattle bench. 1-0 22nd min.

-Jaqua almost heads it on the coner 25th min.

-28th min — Hard shot by Zakuani saved.

-30th: Ljungberg makes a nice play to take the ball away while tumbling but possession is given to LA.

32nd — Ljungberg draws caution on Alan Gordon for a trip.

35th min– GOAL L.A. Alan Gordon to Mike Magee, and then Magee sends it back in on a wide give and go, and Gordon heads it past Keller to his left. 1-1.

43rd — Blatant chuck on Sturgis by Donovan. I question the need for that.

45th — Jaqua pulled down in the box and no call. WOW. Replay showed Kovalenko grabbing him and then trying to take his hands away. Fans booing like mad and Ljungberg, the captain, is giving ref a piece of his mind. Big no-call.

Two min extra time.

That’s the half..Keller throws his arms up in disgust and Ljungberh has more to say to the official, Tim Weyland. The fans in the corner where the officials tunnel is are really letting him have it.

-49th min — Zakuani flies down the left side and centers to Ljungberg who can’t sneak it past Ricketts.

54th min — Zakuani another blurring run. Today’s attendance 29,025.

56th min — Whoa..both teams getting into with a scrum down on the field. James Riley might get fined for this one when the league reviews the tape. He threw a punch, it looked like from up here, but the Los Angeles player looked like he went down. Looked like it was Mike Magee. Magee really appeared to overdramatize when he went down, and now Riley gets a red card after originally being given a yellow. So Seattle is a man down.

Yellow to Ljungberg and Magee.

Now a ball into the box and Sounders FC can’t find it. Goalkeeper is down 62nd min. This game is now really chippy and with Riley sent off, that’s the third red card of the season for Sounders FC. Riley will miss next week’s game.

65th — huge save by Keller. Point blank shot.

-Brad Evans has dropped back into a more defensive position with Riley out.

68th min – Alonso blocks Donovan’s attempt at a center. Donovan was free on the right side.

72nd — Zach Scott in, Sturgis out.

73rd — Nyassi in, Zakuani out.

Back to back yellows for two Galaxy players. Ljungberg and Jaqua taken down hard 82nd -83rd minutes.

87th min — King in for Le Toux, and a near goal for King right away.

Three min. of added time…Seattle just trying to hang on.

FINAL 1-1.
