Feliz cumpleaños, Sr. Presidente

Estoy hablando de “El Presidente,” Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, quien celebra su cumpleaños 25 con su primer gol en carrera MLS.

I’m talking about “El Presidente,” Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, who celebrates his 25th

birthday today with the first goal of his MLS career.

It was really all Sounders FC had to be happy about tonight. Let’s start with the standings.

Seattle is 4-2-3 with 15 points, still in second place in the West after Houston and Colorado had draws and Real Salt Lake lost. So its Seattle with 15, HOU with 12, COL with 12 and RSL with 10. Chivas USA tied and has an eight-point lead on Seattle for first.

It doesn’t look too good for Brad Evans, though we’ll wait for something official. I’ve been around plenty of NFL locker rooms enought to know that crutches probably means missing some time. And he might have a concussion too. So with Ljungberg presumably back next week from his migraine, we’re looking at Le Toux, Zakuani, Ljungberg and Alonso in the midifield.

Four saves for Keller and he was clutch when needed. Five corner kicks for SSFC and it still struggles on those set pieces.

Crowd was 8,247 on Drew Carey Night. Carey was there again and hasn’t missed a road game this season. He met the guy who impersonated him during a halftime game for the fans and was somewhat bemused with the idea of another team celebrating him with the glasses giveaway. Carey won’t be at the Colorado game next week, I think he told me.

Hurtado is the 10th Seattle player to either score a goal or record an assist.
