That’s the word from coach Sigi Schmid today. Practice just ended about half an hour ago at Starfire and the team leaves for Denver later.
I asked Schmid about the diagnosis on Freddie Ljungberg’s migraines.
“It was a more severe migraine attack than maybe the last one he had, so he’s still getting a little bit of a dull headache in the afternoon,” Schmid said. “So until he’s headache free we don’t want to push him, and today he felt a little bit better. He did a little more today, so we expect by Tuesday he should be all right.”
Next question: Does somebody new (perhaps Peter Vagenas) get to play this week?
Schmid: “Yeah, probably someone new, because obviously with Evans not there as well [at center mid], Scott, it changes things around for us.”
So…no Scott is offset by the return of Riley and likely Sturgis at outside defenders. Alonso will have a new CM with him.
