España y que

Loose translation: Spain, what what.

I had to switch to baseball after watching Fernando Torres get a hat trick on the hapless Kiwis. Wow. Spain was going to win that game no matter what but El Niño carved up NZ like a knife through hot butter.

Wonder if Jarrod Smith will get in. I’m not watching so if it has happened already I apologize.

No Sounders FC practice today. They’ll go the next two days and then play D.C. United Wednesday night. DCU leads the league in goals scored with 22.

Read some of the comments on the game recap and saw that a few of you would like to see Le Toux in for Montero. Don’t see that happening so soon, but credit Seba for all-out hustle, if nothing else. The guy makes things happen through sheer desire and hard work.

Tyrone Marshall was banged up pretty bad on the collision with San Jose’s Amirakwa late in the game last night but I expect him to be OK for Wednesday. Don’t think its more than a bruise but I will find out more tomorrow.

“He banged knees pretty good,” Sigi Schmid said. “Who was it, Quincy [Amirakwa]? I’ve seen him play a lot in college. There’s a lot of guys that get bruised when they get close to him.”
