Sounders FC – Dynamo game thread

Estan listos? (Are you ready?)
Dynamo in customary orange with white shorts, Seattle in rave green. There is a sprinkling of Dynamo fans in the house.
1:07 game on
Cam Weaver is on the Houston bench and apparently able to play. The pregame injury report listed him as out with a groin injury. Alonso is in the active 18 for Seattle.
4 — Great hustle by Montero to make a play after Vagenas with the run and then he was taken down. Montero got to the ball and made a cross that almost resulted in a good chance.
6 — Keller punches a corner kick out of the air.
9 – Bad clearance by Ianni and Houston gets a chance.
Schmetzer, coach for the day, is wearing a shirt and slacks on the bench and does have a “lucky” scarf around his neck.

12 — GOAL Dynamo. Brad Davis with a shot directly on goal from 14, 15 yards beats Keller. Sounders FC’s defense allowed the Dynamo too deep of penetration with the ball. Davis gets the pass from Mullan, 1-0 HOU.

13 — Riley with a good long shot just misses.
20 — Montero gets a strike, saved by Onstad.
22 — Again, El Goleador Montero moves in and almost beats Onstad to the ball, but can’t get off a shot. Sounders FC is getting in close but hasn’t finished.
Kamara for Houston has a “Dread-hawk.” That’s a Mohawk made of tight dreads.
26 — Davis on a free kick almost sneaks another one by Keller.
28 — Good individual effort by Ljungberg. Nice cross and there was another chance missed.
31 — Schmetzer miked up to do the TV spot for KONG now.
32 — GOAL Montero. Jaqua with a long ball to Montero, who controls with his shoulder, chest and then a kick with his left foot. Houston’s Chabala is there to try and knock ball out but ref rules that ball went over the line for a goal. Close call, replay looked like Chabala might have got there in time. But it stands, and Kinnear (HOU coach) goes ballistic for a while. 1-1.
43 — King with the cross to Zakuani and what a save by Onstad. Stabs it out of the air with one hand. HUGE for Dynamo.
43 — Hurtado yellow card for rough play. His sixth of the year.
HALF 1-1.
46 –Ianni with revenge on his former team, GOAL on a bicycle kick. The ball landed at his feet after Hurtado headed it to the right of the goal, and Ianni was there for the loose ball. Ianni seemed to have no idea it went in. 2-1 Seattle.
55 — D. Cruz in for Dynamo, Mullan out.
56 — Zakuani out, Le Toux in for Sounders FC.
58 — Riley with running cross to JAqua but the shot goes over the goal. Jaqua puts his head in his hands.
64 — Yellow to Vagenas.
66 — Yellow to Wahl.
71st — Jaqua to Montero, Montero dribbles and shoots and its saved.
71 — Waibel takes down Montero and gets a yellow.
75 — Le Toux steals and shoots from the left, saved.
79 — Waibel and Ljungberg have a spat in front of the HOU bench. It draws a crowd of players and a lot of boos because it looked like Waibel made a little contact with Ljungberg to which he took offense. The UW guy, Waibel, is not popular with the home crowd today.
86 — Montero from Le Toux, he’s got a clear shot but decides to dribble and can’t get off a shot.
Now every time Waibel touches the ball he is booed.
90 — Ljungberg, who was just fouled, comes out and Levesque in.
4 min extra time
Game ends with Keller catching a long shot. 2-1 Seattle.
