But the true question is, which do you watch at 7 — Mexico-Costa Rica on Univision or Timbers-Puerto Rico on FSN? For me its watch Mexico, record the Timbers-Islanders.
Quotes from Sigi Schmid today:
On previous match against Chicago Fire) “It was the first of the comebacks. We did not play well in Chicago. Our first half wasn’t good at all. The memory of our players is pretty good. It’s something that a couple of the guys reminded the other guys of: ‘Remember last time we played these guys, we didn’t play well.’ Sometimes you are going to have some of those games. But, when you have those games and still come out with a point, it’s a good thing. It showed a little bit of character which we have shown on occasion this season. Those things are important for the building of the team.”
(On red cards given to Sounders FC players that game) “Luckily, we have that streak behind us and we will continue to leave that streak behind us. We certainly gave ourselves a good amount of work during that phase of games when we were doing a lot of short-handed playing.”
(On absence of Chicago Fire forward Brian McBride) “It makes them a little bit of a different team. They really don’t have another forward who is a big target. Nyarko is a fast, quick forward. So is Rolfe. Blanco is going to come off the line and look for the ball. The changes are dynamic but they are good players. They have a good team. They will have different options.”
(On Sounders FC lineup for match against Chicago Fire) “We are looking at a couple different options for this weekend. We will decide on those tomorrow. We probably feel pretty good about 8 of the guys. There are 2 or 3 of them that we are deciding which way to go.”
Defender Taylor Graham took part in 11-on-11 for the first time in 2 1/2 months. He’s been back doing on-field practicing for about six days.
Anyway, here are photos from today at practice.
1. Freddie Ljungberg shoots it past Terry Boss.
2. Michael Fucito (left, thanks DD in Kent) and Lamar Neagle headed it back and forth 100 times before they stopped. The kids loved it.
