Hola from the Safe

I’m at Safeco Field to see the M’s …. big baseball fan and the first chance I’ve had all year to see a game.
Geoff Baker, Mr. Blogmaster himself, is to my right. Everton FC is supposed to be making an appearance at the park shortly. I also saw the rapper known as Flo-Rida down on the field meeting Ichiro.
Interesting stuff in Steven Goff’s D.C. United Soccer Insider blog. There is apparently a little dustup that has risen between Sounders FC owner/GM Adrian Hanauer and DCU president Kevin Payne about the bidding for the U.S. Open Cup final, which D.C. won.
Quite frankly, Seattle should have gotten this bid simply because it is the soccer capital of the country right now, and maybe for that very reason, U.S. Soccer chose to hand the game to D.C. to balance things out a little. But that’s just me. I understand the arguments from the other side. ButI do think that even for a weekday afternoon game, the crowd would have been bigger than what DCU will get. Read and decide for yourself.
