Sigi Schmid on having Everton in town

“I’m glad we were able to accommodate them here. I’ve known David [Moyes] now for a few years. I met them when they brought Everton here in the past, when they trained down in L.A. Obviously [GK] Timmy Howard is someone that I coached at the under-20 level and so forth.”
“There’s I think going to be a good relationship between Everton and the Sounders and that’s what this is all about. Our staff and our club has been very hospitable. They’ve been very appreciative of that. I know if we want to go there that it’s certain to be returned. It’s good for our players, it’s good for the city, it’s good for the organization. What we’re doing here is quality and quality teams want to be here.”
That got me to thinking about other EPL or European clubs’ partnerships with MLS teams. Arsenal-Colorado. Tottenham-San Jose. Two examples. Do those work? Could Seattle benefit from a relationship with Everton?
