Off to L.A.

Let the Romero U.S. tour begin. Going to be all over the nation coast to coast in the next three or four weeks.
Leaving Seattle with a couple of Sigi Schmid quotes on the Galaxy:
On L.A. Galaxy style of play:
“They still do it from a pretty conservative base. [David] Beckham has gone into the middle of midfield so he plays in conjunction with [Stefani] Miglioranzi. So they play a little bit deeper. It is just a team that, because of the results they got earlier in the season, they pulled out some ties in games maybe that they were a little fortunate in, gained some confidence. They are a team that is confident. And there is a lot of experience on that team. When you look at the team from A through Z, there’s a lot of caps. You’re looking at Eddie Lewis, [Gregg] Berhalter, [David] Beckham, [Landon] Donovan, people like that and [Donovan] Ricketts in goal. There is a lot of international experience, a lot of caps. Guys don’t retire from soccer because they don’t have it in their mind to think the game anymore. They retire when they can’t run anymore. They can still think the game. So with those guys, as long as their bodies are good, their experience and their thinking process is good. They are going to be all right. It’s because of age maybe they start breaking down sometimes. But that hasn’t happened. So they are a quality team.”
On addition of L.A. Galaxy midfielder David Beckham:
“He changes them a little bit because he gives them a guy who can stretch out the defense with one pass. I think, as a result of that, they have tried to play a forward up there who can always stretch the defense, whether that is [Jovan] Kirovski or whether that’s an Edson Buddle when he is on the field or bringing Bryan Jordan off the bench. Beckham has that ability in one pass to stretch the defense and do it fairly accurately. There is probably a lot more confidence and freedom of the wide guys like [Landon] Donovan and [Eddie] Lewis to do that drop every once in a while. So, that makes them a lot more dangerous than when you have someone there who can’t execute that pass.”
Hasta luego!
