Seattle-LA game thread

Brian McKnight and some other guys sang the national anthem. Sounders FC is for sure in the blue uniforms (all blue, green socks) and we are ready to go.
Kickoff, and there is confetti everywhere.
Competing chants: SoCal Sound vs. Angel City Brigade vs. LA Riot Squad.
7 — L. Gonzalez on a run, crosses to no one. Why not take the shot there? Have to almost, when your team is not scoring. Evans must have been the intended target.
Zakuani offsides twice in the span of a couple of minutes.
14 — Delagarza yellow card for LA.
15– Montero makes nice move with ball but can’t get off shot, Evans tries and its blocked. Decent crowd here, more folks than Chivas games.
17– BECKHAM RED for tackle on Vagenas. Pete is in pain. It looked like Beckham and Vagenas were going after the ball at same time, hard to tell what the ref saw. I guess he thought Becks’ tackle was too aggressive and that he turned his spikes up to get Pete’s ankle.
Beckham is gone. Adios. Just like that. Wow. I guess Vagenas’ joke about “kicking Beckham’s (rear end)” didn’t go over so well with DB. Or maybe Vagenas just earned himself an Oscar. This is Hollywood, sort of. Who knows. All we know is that Seattle has a man advantage.
22– And just like that folks, the Sounders FC scoreless streak is history. It’s Jaqua with the touch to Evans, Evans runs down the left side with ball, crosses to Zakuani who finishes and does a shimmy shake in celebration. GOAL Seattle 1-0.
Now the Galaxy are showing some purpose, going on the attack. Free kick here in 29 for LA after Marshall knocks down a player.
Eddie Lewis with the kick, saved by Keller.
38 — Cross in front, Zakuani to Jaqua, that was a close one. Cleared away by the Galaxy in front of the net.
40 — Klein in front has position after the cross, and Seattle escapes a scoring chance there.
42 — Zakuani with shot from far out, wide.
HALF
Donovan is warming up again…will we see him in second half?
CROWD ROARS AS DONOVAN runs onto the field. Miglioranzi out, Donovan in for LA. Nice to see he’s well enough to play.
47 — Three shots, two from Montero, blocked in front and somehow Galaxy escapes without allowing a goal there.
49 Klein with cross and Keller comes out to grab it.
52 — Two shots for Jaqua. First one is not hit hard. Second one comes thanks to steal by Gonzalez.
54 — Vagenas with the corner, to Jaqua with the header, to Montero with the flush from top of the seven-yard box. Fredy runs to the SoCal sound to celebrate. It’s 2-0 SEA.
65– yellow on Marshall for a grab.
67 — Marshall and Donovan having words. Marshall, former Galaxy player, pretty close to getting a red here. He backs off.
76 — Oh we could see this coming here. Marshall just got a second yellow for stepping into Donovan. I don’t know, was it that bad? I guess he didn’t really go after the ball. The Galaxy fans by the tunnel were letting him have it as he walked off. Tyrone pointed to the scoreboard in response.
78 — Free kick bends in, DIVING save by Keller and a beauty.
79 — Now this is downright chippy. And Salazar is flashing the reds quick. Eddie Lewis red-carded for slapping Riley in the back of the head. Riley embellished but Lewis is gone. It’s 10 on 9 now.
81 — Yellow on Montero as he takes his time coming off. Le Toux actually ran over to speed him up. Fredy was stalling there. Zach Scott in for Montero.
88– Jaqua out, Nyassi in.
90 — Riley booed when he touches ball. Now the Galaxy supporters are chanting “**** Seattle.” A four-letter word.
EXTRA TIME….
Attendance 20, 162
Yellow on Kirovski. It’s all over…
