Lost in this bad loss and the resulting public frustration was the fact that Sanna and Sainey Nyassi, twin brothers on opposite teams, got to play, but weren’t on the field at the same time as each other.
Sainey came out for the Revs in the 67th minute, Sanna came on for Seattle in the 69th.
(On coming out on top in tonight’s match-up against his brother: “I think we came out with a good game-plan and it paid off tonight. I think it was a great game, and both teams played great tonight, we are lucky to come away with three points.”
(On being subbed out minutes before his brother was subbed into the match) “We talked about this game along ago and I wanted him to be on the field. I went out and he came in, I was a little disappointed. I wanted him to be on the field along with me and it be a competition between the two of us. It was exciting.”
(On his brother being a few inches from scoring a goal in the final minutes) “I am proud of him. He was working very hard to get a goal and tie the game up for his team. He just wasn’t lucky enough but they played good tonight.”
