I received Sigi Schmid quotes from today’s practice.
Here you go, thanks Mike Ferris…
On Sounders FC midfielder Freddie Ljungberg:
“He felt fine so he is going along with us to Houston. So if everything goes well, yeah, we expect him to be able to play.”
On Robertson Stadium:
“The field plays small. It’s not as small but it is maybe similar in size to San Jose. It’s maybe a little more narrow. But, they are very comfortable. All those guys used to play at Spartan Stadium which is a small field. Then, they went there [Robertson Stadium] and it’s a smaller field. They are very comfortable. The humidity, just like altitude, sometimes gets to teams. But, it is important to just get out there and play.”
It is very warm here, 96 degrees at last check. The other thing to keep in mind is the debacle at San Jose, so when I saw the quote about Robertson’s field being like San Jose’s well, two words. Uh-oh. The Rave Green didn’t look so hot on the small field last time.
I’m really impressed with what I’ve seen from Houston’s squad. The Dynamo just know how to win, and a commenter brought up how they are using the DP slot smartly by signing Landin, a young guy with experience and more potential and how that is the right way to do it. Great point.
