Just saw an abysmal performance by my college football team. But moving on…
I’m told that Sounders FC will began selling U.S. Open Cup championship T-shirts by the end of next week. So look for that at the Pro Shop. I would assume they won’t look like the ones the team was given, and yes, individual medals were handed out.
On the plane from DC, before I rented the Alaska Airlines Digi-player and watched “X-Men Origins – Wolverine,” and “Night at the Museum – Battle of the Smithsonian,” the captain congratulated Sounders FC for winning the Cup.
So I landed at SeaTac and I’m walking through the terminal and glance at a TV for the Oregon score, and there’s Adrian Hanauer in a bright green hoodie, I think, holding up the U.S. Open Cup at the Seahawks’ preseason game vs. Oakland. Nice.
More news: Seattle DEF James Riley will be signing autographs at the Pro Shop at Qwest Field on Tuesday, September 8 from 6-7PM. The team hopes to have the Open Cup on site for fans to see first hand. Looks like there willl also be a “tour” of the Cup to local food and drink establishments, details to come.
Finally, as I get ready to head on out for the weekend, two interesting links. One, Sounders FC is for sure in the CONCACAF Champions League. Two, read Steven Goff’s blog item about Josh “The Stomper” Wicks and the discipline he faces.
