It seems Ljungberg is confounded at the way some MLS teams have played two fewer games at this point of the season than others.
“How easy is it for the fans to read the table? Who do you know is going to make the playoffs? For me I’m not used to that,” Ljungberg said. “In Europe, when it comes to the end of the season, everybody’s on the same [number of] games and you know exactly… so you can see it.”
No Sounders FC players have more than 3 yellows going into this match, hasn’t been that way for a while. Ljungberg said this week that he plans to “shut up” on the field when it comes to the officials and their calls.
Wow, two of my favorite teams are on TV tomorrow while I will be at Sounders FC game, and I don’t have TiVo! Dodgers at 1, Ducks at 12:30. Oh well…hey, be sure to get in your seats early at Qwest because it looks like all of the ceremonial stuff will happen before kickoff. The Open Cup banner, the salute to the NASL Sounders, should be pretty classy.
I taped the last Burnley match on ESPN2 but it was an ugly game for the Clarets, who are much better at Turf Moor than on the road so far. I’ll probably do it again — the EPL club plays Sunderland at 4:45 a.m. on ESPN2 tomorrow. And its Colorado-San Jose at 8 p.m. tomorrow on ESPN2.
