Game thread, Sounders FC-Chivas USA

Welcome to all of you, and those of you watching the Dawgs or whatever football game and following along.
Game on 12:07 p.m. Coolest banner: “El Corazon 6,” in the North End, referring to Osvaldo Alonso as the heart of the team.
My favorite chant is the “Hey!” (clap), Hey! (clap)” one. Awesome job, people.
Throwing in the March to the Match video from this morning right here…as Montero kicks it off a defender and draws a corner in 7th min.

7th — Marshall misses a header, another corner and a header attempt by Hurtado doesn’t reach his head, and than Zakuani wide with a shot. Keller is really coming out of the goal a lot so far. No rain, but the confetti is all over the south side of the field where Seattle is attacking.
10th — Montero just got hit in the mouth, checking for blood.
15 — Nice run by Le Toux, Ljungberg crosses to Hurtado, ball caroms to Le Toux who fires directly on goal and what a save by Thornton.
19 — Zakuani flying up the field with the ball and it’s a corner, good speed by Bornstein to keep up.
20 — Great hustle by Marshall and an even better cross, but no one gets to it for what would have been a great opportunity.
23 — Again it’s Zakuani accelerating on Bornstein and drawing a corner.
27 — Ooh, bad clearance by Leo results in a Chivas shot but Keller is there to gobble it up.
32 — Bornstein’s fast. Corner for CUSA cleared. Chivas has had the ball in Seattle’s end more of late. Marshall is knocking dudes around.
33 — Kljestan tries the give and go but it’s thwarted. Zakuani, on the other end, gets fouled as he puts a move on his defender. Caution to Jazic for that.
35 — Ljungberg is once again playing well, and his cross for Zakuani is just out of his reach for the redirect try.
39 — Ljungberg hip checks his man going for the ball, hockey is big in Sweden too, and gets called for a foul. After a little protesting, he waves off the official.
41– Yellow card to Osvaldo Alonso. That’s four on him right now.
43 — Nagamura gets carded for Chivas.
45 — Zakuani was down for second holding his neck but he is back up.
45 + — Kljestan lobbies for a call on Riley and gets one. Late whistle. Riley protests.
49 – Zakuani with the header on goal, another big save for Thornton, who is the man of the match for Chivas USA right now.
52 — Sort of feeble attempt at a shot by Le Toux there, unless it was a pass for Montero coming through the middle.
56 — TEXTBOOK tackle by Alonso to stop a chance as Chivas player got loose up top, and Alonso gets up and runs back down the field as if it were nothing.
58 — LaHoud out, Mariano Trujillo in for CUSA.
58 — Former USL Sounder Maykel Galindo in for CUSA.
60 — Montero bicycle kick is nice to look at, but misses.
62 — Galindo knocks over his Cuban friend Alonso, but the two don’t even exchange looks.
63 — Le Toux out, Evans in for Seattle.
64 — OK that was interesting, Cuesta down for Chivas and for some reason, Montero just stepped over him and didn’t go around him as Cuesta lay on the ground. I don’t think the Chivas players liked that very much, and it was kind of cheap if you ask me.
66 — Cuesta out, El Emperador Claudio Suarez in for CUSA.
68 — Zakuani feeds Montero wide open…but offsides is called.
70 — Evans with the jersey tug takedown of Nagamura after he take and elbow from Evans.
71 — RED CARD to Saragosa CUSA after he puts a high boot to Montero’s face. Is it payback for the earlier incident? Fredy is off the field but walking. 10 men for the visitors now.
74 — Ljungberg with a long blast misses just wide.
76 — Trujillo yellow, and Jaqua in for Vagenas.
78 — Santos and Marshall get yellow for a little extracurricular pushing and shoving.
81 — Is there a bounty on Montero? Hard shove in the back, foul, free kick Seattle.
83 — Montero shot, saved by Thornton.
90-plus — Ljungberg with last shot on goal, and the ref checks his watch….
Evans the throw in and that should do it…
0-0 draw.
Zakuani Man of the Match
