Attaway, USA!

Good for the U.S. Mens national team last night, coming from being down 2-0 to getting a draw and winning CONCACAF after a disappointing, if I say so myself, performance by Mexico in Trinidad. It says something about the Yanks that they could pull together and get a result with Charlie Davies clearly on everyone’s mind.
And congratulations to Honduras! First time in the World Cup since 1982. Places like that with all the political turmoil and the poverty and so much more need something to be happy about, and the Catrachos provided that glimmer of happiness.
Do you think Jonathan Bornstein would be hailed a national hero in Honduras if he were to go there?
Speaking of Davies, this comes to me from Steve Clare of ProstAmerika. There’s a tribute to Davies being planned at Qwest Field during the FC Dallas match Oct. 24. Details here, personally I love the idea.
And in case you haven’t seen it, here’s today’s Sounders FC story in the Times that I wrote about the win-and-in playoff scenario.
