Gorilla FC, Sounders FC players stepping up to help Haiti quake victims

If you saw CNN or any of the news feeds from Haiti and Port-Au-Prince, you were probably floored at the devastation as I was. Larry King had Jozy Altidore on from England for a couple of minutes earlier tonight and the US MNT player, whose parents were born in Haiti, said there were family members on the island that had not been contacted and their whereabouts unknown.
So here’s what Kevin Zelko from GFC sent me, thanks to him, and I plan to be there in support:

With the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, Sounders Steve Zakuani and James Riley, George & Dragon and Gorilla FC are hosting a benefit for the Port-au-Prince victims at the classic football pub located in Fremont on Saturday, January 23 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. The earthquake has hit our neighborly nation that is already fighting economic instability and political chaos for decades.
Generation Adidas star, Sounders FC midfielder and MLS 2009 1st round draft pick Steve Zakuani and defensive star James Riley will be signing autographs and taking pictures to raise money for Haiti. There is a suggested donation of $5 for autographs and pictures with Steve and James. George & Dragon will also be collecting a $5 suggested door fee. Gorilla FC will be raffling autographed Sounders FC gear, used Zakuani shoes, gift certificates and more items. Raffle tickets are $5 per ticket with all money going to Haiti.
All proceeds will benefit the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. For more information on the Haiti earthquake please visit online at www.yele.org.
George & Dragon will be showing the USA vs Honduras game starting at 6pm.

Thanks Kevin. $10 for admission and a photo with Zakuani and Riley, and it all goes to a very important cause. Hope to see many of you there.
