Sounders FC did right to address a need, someone who can score. Looks like Estrada can play on the outside wing and forward. I’m sure Sigi Schmid has a lot of insight on him, being UCLA guys, so I think we have to defer to the team’s player evaluation staff on this one.
Where only one draft pick panned out last season, it was the one that mattered most – Steve Zakuani. And you never know with Michael Fucito, he could have a really good camp.
My concern is the need for some size and strength to take pressure off Seattle’s aggressive but smaller scorers, not including Nate Jaqua. The team has to be addressing that, presumably, outside of the draft. But we’ll see.
