Seriously, I have watched it the past two days in a row pretty much in its entirety and they spend a lot of time on EPL highlights. Which is good, because it increases my understanding of a league that honestly until now, I didn’t follow closely.
A few things I have noticed – Burnley’s and Aston Villa’s kits are similar; Landon Donovan got his first goal for Everton vs. Sunderland, the LED side boards at that game had this neat graphic of an elephant walking, an ad for Chang beer, which sponsors the Toffees; the way they package their Latin American soccer highlights is kind of lame, where the anchors cut to a packaged wrapup of games; and AC Milan isn’t so good right now, at least from what I saw.
Twitter has provided me with some things to share. Robinho, who was so great here in Seattle when Brazil had that friendly here, is off to Santos on loan. And that is good news for the New York Red Bulls, as they will christen their new stadium on March 20 with a match against Santos of Brazil.
And Soccer by Ives has an interesting tweet about Kenny Cooper of FC Dallas. “Kenny Cooper’s days at 1860 Munich appear over. He’s headed to Plymouth on loan after dust-up with 1860 manager over playing time.”
More on Cooper in this Goal.com piece.
Finally, I hope as many of you as possible can make it out to the Copper Cart Cafe in Belltown (113 Bell St.) , Seattle, for my farewell meetup. It would be great to meet in person and allow me to say thank you, in person, for all your support since this blog began. I’ll be there around 7:30 p.m.
