Sounders FC practices later this morning, then leaves for Arizona tomorrow. Then they get three days off and then off to Spain, assuming the whole MLS CBA thing is worked out.
This will also be my last practice as the guy who covers the team for the Seattle Times, as the team will be off when I am scheduled to leave town.
Wow. It’s come down to this. Of course I’ll be working for another week, continuing to do stories while the team is away from here.
I was glad to have had the opportunity to go to practices and Starfire really became an important place for me. I had a lot of my workouts with my personal trainer, Oscar, there for the past four months and I’m thankful to those who run the building for allowing those to take place.
But enough about me. Here’s today’s Times story I wrote about the return of Freddie Ljungberg to the team. I don’t see this issue between he and Kasey Keller as much of an issue at all. These guys are straight shooters, or at least they always have been when I’ve spoken to them, and as veterans of the international game with a ton of respect for each other, no doubt in my mind that they will work it out if they haven’t already.
