The Sounders FC will apparently take on a Pac-10 foe, as the Oregon State men’s soccer team announced an exhibition game in Seattle on March 26 at 11 a.m. That is one day after the MLS opener at Qwest Field against the Philadelphia Union and ex-Beaver/No. 1 draft pick Danny Mwanga.
Sounds like it is essentially a reserve game.
Also, if you still haven’t seen highlights (lowlights?) of the 3-0 loss to Rosenborg, go to SoundersFC.com to catch the team report or here to get them from the Norwegian club.

— Here’s a writer for The Daily Telegraph who uses Landon Donovan to form some new thoughts toward Major League Soccer. Ex-Sounders FC goalkeeper Ben Dragavon has signed with the Austin Aztex, a second-tier team. Here’s a good roundup of recent preseason matches around MLS. The league website has a fun story of a rookie with a lingering draft-day gaffe. Lastly, Houston waived some trialists and FC Dallas might be moving Atiba Harris to forward.
— On the national team level, Charlie Davies will return to training next month and Oguchi Onyewu is also back practicing. Clint Dempsey is also on the right track to recovery. Donovan was named Everton’s player of the month (and he accepted the award wearing something that looks close to being, but isn’t, a Portland Timbers t-shirt). You can submit questions for a CNN interview with Donovan and Tim Howard.
— Lastly a video of a clever, cheeky goal from Portugal.
