Here’s a picture of the trophy Seattle and Portland will play for Thursday. The engraving is hard to read, but it says.

(On Thursday’s game raising money for charities)
“Our team and the organization is very supportive of that and anytime we can help out the charities that are around that are going to help out the kids and the underprivileged and people who don’t have as much as some of the others of us are able to have, it’s always a great thing. So being able to get fans out here to watch the spectacle of soccer, to watch the spectacle that Sounders soccer is and to watch the rivalry of the Sounders and Portland and have the money go to a good cause, is a great night.”
(On working on finishing around the goal)
“It’s just something as we get closer to the season obviously we are going to do more and more finishing. You don’t want to do a lot of finishing and so forth when you are still in the process of doing a lot of your fitness work. So now there is a little more concentration on it. But we wanted to make it a little more like a day before game practice so that’s why we played a little bit through the goals in the middle of the field and then we just did some corner kicks and stuff.”
(On Sounders FC defender Taylor Graham)
“He’s not back full yet. He was at this stage before and then he went back into a game and he felt it again. So we still have to be careful with him. Right now, for me, he is still not back. Hopefully he will be back soon.”
(On plan against Portland Timbers)
“We want to look at a few different people tomorrow as well. There are still some decisions that we have got to make. So we want to look at some people and maybe look at a different mix in the middle of midfield for us tomorrow night. Tyrone [Marshall] has played a lot of minutes early on this season so probably have him play only 45 minutes tomorrow as well. But for the rest of it, we just want to get ourselves prepared and get ready for the game the following week against Colorado [Rapids].”
(On winning game against Portland Timbers)
“You always want to win. You always want to win so we are always out there going to win the game. We also have a lot of confidence in our people and there are guys who can certainly come off the bench and play. So we want to win the game. I can assure our fans that.”
