Ex-Sounder Sebastien Le Toux named MLS player of the week (league release)

Philadelphia Union Forward Sebastien Le Toux Named MLS Player of the Week
Le Toux contributes three goals in Union’s first win
NEW YORK (Monday, April 12, 2010) — Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 3 of the 2010 MLS season. Le Toux scored three times to lift the Union to a 3-2 home victory, their first win of the season, over D.C. United on Saturday, April 10 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Saturday night’s three goal effort was the first hat trick of Le Toux’s MLS career.

In the 4th minute, Philadelphia’s Roger Torres sent a bending cross into the six-yard box and found a wide-open Le Toux, who headed it in for the first goal in club history.
Le Toux scored again in the 40th minute when Alejandro Moreno received the ball under pressure and sent a pin point, 30-yard pass through to Le Toux who, without breaking stride, collected the ball and slotted it under D.C. United goalkeeper Troy Perkins.
With the score tied 2-2, Alejandro Moreno drew a free kick in the 78th minute at the top of the arc. Le Toux stepped up and blasted the free kick through the D.C. United wall and inside the left goal post.
This is Le Toux’s first career Player of the Week award.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
