LIVE THREAD: Sounders FC v. Kansas City Wizards

Final. Seattle wins 1-0.
92′: GOAL FUCITO. Gets behind the defense on Evans’ throw in.
90′: Evans booked for a professional foul on Auvray.
90′: Harsh obstruction call on K.C.’s Arnaud on Alonso. Sets up a dangerous free kick. Ljungberg’s service is headed out.
85′: Seattle sub, Fucito on for Zakuani.

82′: K.C. sub. Wolff off for Bunbury. Evans walks off the field gingerly.
81′: Evans is down in the K.C. penalty box. Needs treatment. Maybe he landed or planted awkwardly?
77′: Long cross from the left comes into the box for Evans, but he can’t get a clean shot on it.
72′: Auvray booked for delay of game after throwing the ball in the air after a K.C. foul.
70′: Evans on for Noonan.
68′: Alonso claps his hands together strongly to try to rally the Sounders. Things have been very unsteady
65′: Attendance: 35,924. Seattle looking very uncomfortable on the ball recently.
61′: Marshall comes back on again.
57′: Ryan Smith earns a free kick for K.C. Seattle’s defenders don’t like it. Appeared to be a late call away from the ball on Vagenas. Marshall leaves the field, apparently re-opened the cut from the earlier collision.
Escobar’s shot was blocked by the wall.
53′: Montero earns a dangerous free kick for Seattle. Ljungberg’s attempt hits the side netting.
50′: Zakuani with a poor cross/shot. His touches and 1v1 moments haven’t been very dangerous. On the other end, Arnaud appeared to be through on goal, but his attempt is saved by Keller.
46′: And we’re off in the second half. No subs for Seattle. Pretty sure there were no changes for K.C.
Halftime: Still scoreless here. Noonan had the best chance in the 10th minute. Sounders FC controlled most of the action from my viewpoint.
45’+: Just two minutes of stoppage time. Thought there might have been more with the minor injury delays.
45′: Seattle offense struggling to get on the right page. Linking up passes and communication appears to be the main ills.
42′: Riley and Kamara are back on. Riley with a new number-less jersey.
41′: Both players are up and go the sidelines for treatment.
40′: Kamara and Riley clash HARD. Both are down.
38′: Hurtado with a tremendous sliding tackle on Smith, who looked to be on a breakaway.
37′: Zakuani called for a foul and protests. Ref gets in his face. Zakuani gives the ref a bit of a push. Yikes. He’s lucky to just get a yellow there, but the ref played a part in it too.
Conrad out with a strained calf.
36′: Another corner kick for the Wizards. But Keller comes out nicely to snag it.
34′: Kamara gets a head on a K.C. corner, but it’s nowhere near the goal. Seattle has really controlled the last 15-20 minutes.
32′: K.C. sub. Conrad out, Besler in. Not sure what happened there.
30′: Offside. Ljungberg plays Zakuani in on goal. Looked very close.
29′: Riley booked for a tackle on Kamara. The K.C. forward made the most of that one.
26′: Hurtado absolutely stones Smith. The Arsenal product has had a rough go of it so far. Seattle defense is very sharp.
22′: Smith gets free at the top of the box, but his shot is deflected out for a corner kick. Smith takes it and Escobar takes a shot for K.C. over the bar.
20′: Another Seattle player that has had a great game so far is Leo Gonzalez on Kei Kamara. Vagenas is also staying involved.
18′: Marshall is back on. Returns to a nice applause. Auvray is OK too.
15′: Marshall collides with Auvray. The big Jamaican needs medical treatment, they might have hit heads. Ianni warming up if he’s needed.
14′: SAVE! Noonan cuts a pass back to Montero, who fires a shot saved masterfully by Nielsen.
13′: Alonso with a saving sliding tackle in the box. He has been PHENOMENAL so far.
10′: MISS! Noonan is wide open in front of the net but pushed a perfect cross by Riley wide.
7′: Noonan tracks back well to win the ball. Some good passing eventually leads to a Zakuani shot to the near post. But he didn’t connect cleanly and it’s easily saved.
5′: K.C. getting the better of it so far I think. Alonso has broken up a number of attacks already. Seattle needs to hold onto the ball better.
2′: Early corner kick for the Wizards. Cleared. Then Ozzie strips Smith off the ball clean.
1′: And we’re underway! Kansas City in all blue (though Ryan Smith has some bright yellow shoes). Seattle in the traditional green-blue-green.
Pregame: Marian Bowers gets the Golden Scarf.
Pregame: Grammatrain’s new Sounders anthem blasted over the stadium speakers here. That’s the debut of “The Last Sound”, if I remember correctly.
Also, I’m not very privy to online streams of games. Hopefully people in the comments section can help you out.
Pregame: About a half hour now until kickoff. Peter Vagenas will make his first start and see his first action of the year. Kansas City is warming up in all-blue road uniforms.
