FINAL: Seattle Sounders FC 0, Los Angeles Galaxy 4

Final: L.A. Galaxy 4, Seattle Sounders FC 0.
78′: All the previous disappointing results have had a tinge of optimism to them. Not this one.
71′: All these goals have made it impossible to keep up with the updates. Los Angeles is embarrassing Seattle 4-0 now and I’ll spend the rest of the game writing.
67′: GOAL L.A. Donovan from Buddle it’s 4-0
58′: Miguel Montano has come into the game for Montero. It’s his debut.
57′ GOAL L.A. It’s 3-0 now for the Galaxy. Landon Donovan with another assist, his free kick is headed in by Dunivant.
52′: GOAL L.A. The Galaxy leads 2-0 now. Omar Gonzalez heads in a beautiful corner kick by Landon Donovan. Seattle is in trouble now.
51′: Marshall gets his head on a Ljungberg corner, but it’s soft and right at Ricketts.
50′: Donovan Ricketts wearing electricity yellow in goal. He wasn’t tested early on a shot by Montero, but not much since.
46′: No subs at halftime. Will L.A. play deliberately with the lead?
Halftime: Los Angeles takes the 1-0 lead into the break. Time to get some writing done.

45+’: Booking for Leo Gonzalez on a hard foul on Birchall sets up a dangerous free kick. Stoppage time curse…?
45′: Two minutes of stoppage time. Hold on…
41′: Strained right quad is the injury for Alonso.
38′: Hurtado clatters hard into the back of Donovan. Get booked. He knew the yellow card was coming and jogged away slowly.
35′: Alonso goes down after asking for a sub. Something must have happened there. He hasn’t been off the field all season. Looks like Sturgis is coming on.
33′: Buddle has been nearly nonexistent.
28′: MISS! Zakuani lays the ball off to Alonso who fires a shot that must’ve gone 70 mph just over the bar.
28′: That goal definitely came against the run of play. L.A. hasn’t had the ball on Seattle’s end for much of the half, let alone create many chances. Keller will surely have expected more from himself on that one.
22′: GOAL. L.A. leads 1-0. Jovan Kirovski got some space in Seattle’s defensive third, fired a shot on goal from 20 yards that Keller couldn’t stop. Looked like he was fooled or something. Didn’t get much on the save.
21′: Evans now playing some center forward. Seattle has options up front.
18′: Montero fires a nice shot. SAVED by Ricketts and cleared for a corner.
14′: Montero called offside. That one looked very close and he would’ve had Evans free in front of goal.
11′: Seattle really holding onto the ball well. Possession has to be strongly in the Sounders FC favor.
8′: Montero cross from the right side smothered by Ricketts. Evans was tying his shoe in the build-up.
6′: Zakuani playing the middle now. Montero on the right and Evans on the left. They’re switching up a lot.
3′: Dangerous free kick for L.A. blocked by the wall. Marshall challenges Buddle well in the air on a second chance.
1′: And we’re off. I’ll get the lineups going.
Pregame: Starting lineups are being announced here. L.A. will be wearing all-white uniforms. Seattle in the traditional green-blue-green combination.
Pregame: Spring has arrived here in Seattle, maybe the Galaxy brought the weather with them from sunny California. We’ll see how the Sounders FC match up against the best in MLS.
