Blaise Nkufo’s arrival to Sounders FC training — photo reel

Lots of cameras and reporters at Starfire today. The extra attention was for the arrival of Swiss striker Blaise Nkufo, who met his teammates for the first time before training and was available to the media afterward.

A lot is expected of him, and if you checked out the Q&A transcript I posted earlier on the blog, it sounds like Nkufo is ready for it.

Lots of excitement and anticipation now for the offense, but that will have to wait another couple months. Will the goals arrive until then?

* * *

1. Camera shutters were flickering as Nkufo walks in with general manager Adrian Hanauer.

2. Steve Zakuani and Peter Vagenas shared a pre-training chat. Nate Jaqua, who joined training Tuesday, had some extra life in his step and he got loose in the background.

3. Jamel Wallace and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado stretch it out on the side before training. David Estrada and Leo Gonzalez chat in the back.

4. Before drills got underway, Nkufo introduced himself to the group. Then he put on a jacket on a cold, windy morning and watched from the bench.
