Monday training at the Starfire Sports Complex — photo reel

Skies were clear and sunny for training this morning, but the mood took a dark turn when defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado walked in with the help of crutches. His torn ACL was definitely the story of the day and in fact kept me from taking my usual amount of pictures.

Reporters talked to owner/general manager Adrian Hanauer and coach Sigi Schmid about the loss and also got the opinions of a few teammates. Here are the three shots I have to offer from pre-training warmups.

* * *

1. Keep-away. Always a favorite.

2. More pre-training stuff from a couple guys on the mend. Jaqua and Evans were neutral players in scrimmage work, meaning offense-only as they ease back in.

3. Schmid said the team missed Evans out there Saturday. He should be back soon, I’d think.
