Cameras weren’t allowed for the first part of practice during some scrimmage work, so the reel will be a bit limited today. Osvaldo Alonso had an ice-pack on his leg and sat out. Brad Evans was walking with the help of a crutch, so it appears his knee hasn’t unlocked yet. Terry Boss tweaked his ankle the other day and took it easy as well.
After an extensive scrimmage (which saw asst. coach Brian Schmetzer as the center referee, and Kurt Schmid and Ezra Hendrickson as ARs on the sideline), the team did some finishing work.
Nate Jaqua had a top-shelf finish that earned some cheers. James Riley had a couple crosses that hit Sigi Schmid in the back, which people had a laugh about.
It sure was nice to see the sun out finally.
* * *
1. Fredy Montero uses a penny as a head-covering. Not sure if it’s due to the heat or a new style.
2. The trio that sat out, from the left, Alonso, Evans and Fucito.
3. Roger Levesque makes the happy turn after finishing a goal past invitee GK Josh Wagenaar.
4. That familiar group of finishers in the middle awaiting service. Not pictures: relaxing defenders.
