Major League Soccer power rankings — week fourteen

1. (1) Los Angeles Galaxy 10-1-3

Didn’t lose any ground without Landon Donovan & Edson Buddle. Will they run away with it?

2. (2) Real Salt Lake 7-3-3

Extended shutout streak to 318 min., which includes all of June, thanks to GK Nick Rimando.

3. (4) Columbus Crew 7-2-3

Cheaters never prosper? Game-winner against D.C. came on a blatant hand-ball by Schelotto.

4. (5) New York Red Bulls 8-5-0

Led by F Angel’s three goals, the Red Bulls are 3-0 in June & should sign Thierry Henry soon.

5. (3) Colorado Rapids 6-3-3

Conor Casey & Co. are unbeaten in five games; 21 pts are team’s most ever through 12 games.

6. (6) Toronto FC 5-4-3

Earned a point vs. L.A. & will offer tickets to fans who missed it due to G-20 Summit protests.

7. (8) FC Dallas 4-2-6

Benched last year’s Golden Boot winner — F Jeff Cunningham — and still got a big road win.

8. (7) San Jose Earthquakes 5-4-3

Has the Jon Busch era begun? The veteran goalkeeper replaced Joe Cannon and got a shutout.

9. (9) Chicago Fire 4-3-5

M Marco Pappa has four goals this month, leading his rejuvenated team to an unbeaten June.

10. (10) Houston Dynamo 5-7-2

Breakout player of the year? How about Danny Cruz, who’s become a not-so-secret weapon?

11. (12) Kansas City Wizards 3-6-3

Only team without a road win. Have also conceded 2+ goals in five of their last eight games.

12. (16) Philadelphia Union 3-71

Home-field advantage looked strong Sunday, and schedule is PPL Park-heavy from now on.

13. (11) Seattle Sounders FC 4-7-3

Have already matched last year’s loss total (7) and can’t suffer many more in a playoff push.

14. (13) New England Revolution 3-8-2

GK Matt Reis made his season debut Sunday after recovering from knee/shoulder injuries.

15. (14) D.C. United 3-9-1

Haven’t scored in nine of their 13 games this year. Boast a 3-1 record when they do get a goal.

16. (15) Chivas USA 3-9-1

Struggling Goats brought back M Paulo Nagamura to hopefully end a six-game losing streak.
