LIVE: Seattle Sounders FC v. FC Dallas, game thread

Final: 1-1 draw here. More to come.

87′: GOAL Dallas. Ferreira from Pearce. Writing duties taking over.

84′: Yellow card to Heath Pearce. Not much longer for a desperately-needed three points.

80′: Dallas sub. Lloyd in for Benitez.

78′: Levesque in for Jaqua.

77′: McCarty booked for dragging down Montero. Can the 10-man Sounders hold on?

71′: Keller with an incredible save on David Ferreira’s diving header. Had to clear it off the line. Later the Seattle keeper grabs an Ugo Ihemelu header off a corner kick.

70′: Alonso on for Mike Seamon. The Cuban has missed seven MLS games with a quadriceps injury.

Also, Shea has being booed every time he touches the ball for his part in the Montano ejection.

67′: Curling shot from Dax McCarty just misses the goal. He has his face in his hands. He wanted to do better there. Osvaldo Alonso looks like he’s coming in.

65′: Cunningham in for Chavez for the visitors.

62′: Nyassi on for Zakuani.

56′: Montano has been sent off! Ref appears to be gesturing that he threw an elbow at Shea. Not sure I saw it. Shea gets a yellow.

54′: Dallas pushing hard now. Keller had to make a save on Shea’s attempt from in front of goal and the Hoops are pressing.

51′: Leo picks up a booking of his own.

49′: Looked like Montero got hit with a high boot. Hernandez is booked for it. Ferreira got a yellow card for a harsh tackle in the first half.

46′: And we’re off in the second half.

Halftime: Dallas with a 5-4 advantage in shots at the break. Sounders more aggressive if you look at fouls with an 8-6 edge. What subs do you foresee as the second half rolls on?

Maybe Nyassi for Montano at around the 60′ mark? Not sure the youngster can go much longer than that at his work rate. Maybe Noonan/Levesque for Jaqua later on? Or Ozzie for Mike Seamon?

Halftime: Seattle has looked as good as it has in a month and takes a 1-0 lead to the break. There were certainly goals to be had by both sides in the first half, we’ll see how open it is in the second half.

43′: Sounders will have to watch for the counterattack. Dallas’ front three of Harris, Ferreira and Shea is formidable. On the other end, Montero with a great dummy run frees up Zakuani, but his shot is blocked in the box.

36′: Things have calmed down, considerably.

29′: He’s not a flashy guy, like some of the others, but I think Nathan Sturgis has had a strong game controlling things in the middle for Seattle.

24′: There can’t be any qualms about the lineup so far. But will it get the three points?

18′: Crucial early goal could help settle some of the young guys down. Definitely a deserved goal. While Seattle has allowed a couple chances, the hosts have been on the front foot for most of the game.

14′: GOAL SEATTLE! James Riley swings in a dangerous cross from the right side and Fredy Montero rises high to head it to the near post past GK Kevin Hartman. Michael Seamon also credited with an assist.

13′: Lots of energy from the Seattle lineup. That’s to be expected right?

9′: Zakuani cross (Or a bad backpass from George John, didn’t quite see it cleanly) squeezes through the Dallas backline to Montero, but his open shot is stoned by Hartman.

8′: Entertaining start. Chances on both sides. Seattle has probably had more possession, but Dallas has had the better of the opportunities.

6′: Brek Shea gets behind the Seattle defense on a long free-kick, but his header is wide.

4′: Ianni with a poor clearance and tackle allows Harris through on goal, but Keller is strong in the point-blank save.

2′: Looks like a flat 4-4-2, but expect Mike Seamon to push farther up the field.

——————Keller——————-
Riley—-Parke——Ianni—Gonzalez

Montano-Seamon–Sturgis-Zakuani

———-Montero–Jaqua————–

1′: And we’re off! Montano earns an early foul on the right wing. I’ll try to figure out how the formation looks in the opening minutes.

Pregame: Dallas in its traditional red-and-white hooped shirts, red shorts and socks. Seattle in the green-blue-green home combo.

Pregame: We’re probably 10 minutes away from kickoff. Some interesting moves in the Sounders FC lineup tonight. What do you think of the changes?
