Sounders FC Corporate Cup Weekend Kicks Off

Employees of Amazon, Boeing, Expedia, Microsoft, Puget Sound Energy, Sounders FC, Starbucks & UPS to participate in slate of activities Friday – Sunday

SEATTLE – This weekend, men and women from around the Puget Sound will don their corporate colors to participate in an event to benefit Sounders FC charity partner, America SCORES Seattle. In a marquis match-up, United Parcel Service will clash with Expedia on Saturday, July 24th at 4:30PM. Team UPS, outfitted in brown soccer uniforms, will arrive at the field in a customized delivery van at 3:30PM where they’ll be greeted by Team Expedia toting their trademark, yellow-branded suitcases. The group will pose for photos and video from 3:30-4:00PM at the entrance to the Sounders Training Grounds (Fields #9, #10, #11). See the complete tournament schedule.

The festivities begin Friday evening at a Pre-Tournament party where players will mingle, exchange business cards and rub elbows with Sounders FC players in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. But come Saturday 9AM things get serious when qualifying play begins at the Sounders Training Grounds in Tukwilla. After the dust settles on Sunday evening, only four teams will have earned the right to play in the championship matches two weeks later on Xbox Pitch @ Qwest Field.

Top Pot Doughnut’s Airstream Trailer, Molly Moon’s Mobile Scoop Unit and WA State Youth Soccer will be on hand this Saturday, to make this a family-fun event. Sounders FC conduct their Saturday training session on Field #11 from 10-11:30AM, so the professional players will blend with the corporate players at the conclusion of their practice.
