FINAL: Seattle hangs on for the 2-1 win and the much-needed three points. That’s two wins in the row for the first time this season and seven points in the last three games.
90′: Three minutes of stoppage time. Looked like Ianni hit heads with someone, Zach Scott went to collect a towel. Hopefully everyone’s OK.
88′ Montero with an effort from midfield! Almost catches Pickens off his line, but the Colorado goalkeeper is back to grab it.
87′: Zakuani called for offside on the breakaway. He finishes the goal and gets a stern warning from the ref. Not much longer in this one.
80′: Levesque getting ready to come in. He does in the 81st minute for Nyassi. Writing duties starting to take over, be sure to offer your thoughts in the comments section.
77′: Quincy Amarikwa in for Ballouchy. Things have definitely slowed down in this one. Seattle will take it.
74′: Michael Seamon on for Nathan Sturgis.
70′: Conor Casey with a header off a corner kick just over the bar. An equalizer almost seems destined, but maybe the Sounders are due for a break.
68′: Jaqua looks ready to come on. In the 70th minute it’s official, he’s in for Nkufo.
64′: Lopez and Kimura look like they’re coming on soon for the Rapids. In the 65th minute they come on for Smith and Earls.
62′: SAVE! Another highlight-reel effort from Keller who stops a great backheel from Smith. Moments later Cummings has a breakaway but skies his shot over the bar. Tense moments here for the Sounders.
61′: Colorado definitely dominating the play recently. Seattle will have to work hard to preserve the win at this rate.
58′: Smith booked for a foul on Montero.
57′: Almost time for some subs. What do you anticipate? I’ll say Jaqua for Nkufo (whose not 100% fit yet) at around 65′ and Montano for Nyassi maybe around 70′.
55′: Lots of dangerous stuff from Colorado. You could easily argue that they’ve had more of the game.
52′: Montero fires a shot wide, looked like he had Nkufo available on the right, but he went for the target himself.
48′: Nyassi and Montero have switched positions it seems. The Colombian to the right flank.
46′: And we’re off in the second half. No subs for Seattle and I don’t think Colorado made any changes either.
Halftime: Sounders were outshot 7-3, but got two in the net. I contend Zakuani’s first goal should be credited as an own goal, but for now he has seven on the season (tied for fourth in MLS).
Halftime: What a start to this one. Three goals in the first 17 minutes. Seattle leads 2-1 at the break — I’ll have some stats in a few minutes.
45′: Two minutes of stoppage time. Definitely an entertaining up-and-down game here. There will likely be a couple more goals. We’ll see if we can get to halftime before the next.
39′: Keller with a safe save on a long shot from Ballouchy.
36′: Alonso is in pain after sliding into a challenge with Larentowicz. Didn’t look malicious and Ozzie is good to go.
29′: Scott with the booking after grabbing Cummings’ jersey. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wahl in there at some point — he’s warming up actually behind the Seattle goal.
25′: Nkufo not much of a factor so far.
19′: SAVE! Conor Casey nearly with another stunning equalizer but Keller masterfully tips it over the bar!
17′: GOAL SEATTLE! Sanna Nyassi speeds down the right flank, passes perfectly to Zakuani for the tap-in. Sounders FC lead Colorado 2-1. Zakuani has a team-high seven goals now.
13′: Cummings on the deck now. Seattle fans boo as a Rapid writhes in pain for the third time already tonight.
9′: GOAL COLORADO. Omar Cummings earns some space on the right side, cuts back and drills a rocket shot past Keller for the immediate equalizer. Wow. What a start.
8′: GOAL SEATTLE! Montero battles for the ball in the box, it falls to Zakuani who fires a shot off the post, but it bounces off GK Pickens into the goal!
7′: Pablo is back in, but now Conor Casey goes down after challenging Parke in the air.
5′: Mastroeni down for an extended period of time. Not sure what happened there, but he appears to be shaken up.
2′: Here’s what the Sounders look like. Meanwhile Zakuani just missed Montero in front of the goal!
1′: And we’re off! I’ll get working on the Seattle formation.
Pregame: Here comes the walkout. Seattle in its traditional green-blue-green combination at home. Colorado in a red-white-red ensemble.
Pregame: Time for the Golden Scarf — it’s awarded to Teddy Mitalas.
Surprisingly thin crowd right now.
Pregame: We’re about 30 minutes from kickoff and both teams are warming up. Be sure to check out the starting lineups below if you haven’t already. Pat Noonan, who likely would’ve started on the right side, was a late scratch with an adductor strain.
