Today was a regeneration day for the starters from Sunday’s 2-1 win against Colorado, as such there were two main groups in practice today. The starters checked out early, which meant interviews were done throughout the day (not just at the end) leaving less time to take pictures.
Early on it was nice to see Mike Fucito and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado integrated into the team for some fitness work. Slowly but surely, they’re working their way back. Brad Evans was again a neutral in training, one step away from being back in full.
No sign yet of Alvaro Fernandez. In fact, Adrian Hanauer and Chris Henderson weren’t around either — we’re told they will be attending league meetings down in Houston, this being the week of the MLS All-Star Game against Manchester United. Also no word yet on a potential destination for Freddie Ljungberg, which seems to bring into question the worldwide interest in him.
* * *
1. James Riley, Steve Zakuani and Nathan Sturgis with the Tour de France impersonations.
2. Blaise Nkufo and Zach Scott go on a little jog before joining the other starters.
3. More regen work to get over the bumps and bruises from a physical match against Colorado.
