Sounders FC v. San Jose Earthquakes, pregame notes

sj away.JPG

Checking in from a sunny San Jose at the cozy Buck Shaw Stadium. Here’s my view from the pressbox as we approach this crucial Western Conference showdown.

It’s been a crazy week in Sounders-ville: CEO Tod Leiweke resigns, the team signs a DP and trades away another. Regardless of all the news off the field, it’s about getting results for this Seattle team.

I predicted a 1-1 draw in the post below, so feel free to offer your predictions. I’ll post lineups here when they become available. Sounders in green shorts, blue socks and Alvaro Fernandez is in the building.

The teams are warming up right now. Seattle appears to have the same starting lineup from last game (Keller, Riley, Parke, Ianni, Gonzalez, Alonso, Sturgis, Nyassi, Zakuani, Montero, Nkufo), but it’s not official yet.

There are also 20 guys here, obviously in preparation for Tuesday’s CCL game. The team takes off for El Salvador from here.

Seattle Sounders FC lineup: GK Kasey Keller, D James Riley, D Jeff Parke, D Patrick Ianni, D Leo Gonzalez, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Nathan Sturgis, M Sanna Nyassi, M Steve Zakuani, F Fredy Montero, F Blaise Nkufo
