Sounders FC training Saturday at Starfire — photo reel

The big surprise of the day was seeing German legend Jurgen Klinsmann around, chatting it up with front-office executives on the sidelines. He’ll be around for tomorrow night’s game against the Dynamo and shared his thoughts with reporters in the post below this one.

Training was pretty light today, as it usually is the day before the game. Both Pat Noonan and Brad Evans (who we learned has had some difficulty recovering from his knee injury and might miss the rest of the season) were inactive it seemed.

Mike Fucito continues to improve (Hurtado also), but wearing a sleeveless top during a rainy, windy, cold training session had me a little concerned. The team mainly did scrimmage work and then worked on finishing.

Here are the shots:

* * *

1. Klinsmann in the flesh. He had some kinds things to say about MLS and Seattle.

2. Here’s a typical scene from training — the lines for the finishing drill and set piece work.

3. Blaise Nkufo skies a shot over the goal. Right into a youth game in the field over.

4. James Riley, who deserves credit for the big assist against Metapan, walks back in line.

5. Another day, another step closer to recovery for defensive stalwart Jhon Kennedy Hurtado.
