With the U.S. men’s national team scheduled to kick off a friendly with Brazil in about three hours, I just had to ask Sounders FC goalkeeper and captain Kasey Keller about his 10-save effort in the semifinals of the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

(With the USA-Brazil friendly tonight, your name has been showing up in stories for your performance in 1998, what do you remember from that game and what did that mean to you?) “It wasn’t a friendly though, which was nice. But no, it was a great moment in my career; it was a big point of establishment. You’re trying to make a name for yourself, and to have a game like that against the world champions, against the Golden Boot winner, that kind of stuff in a true FIFA game, it was a great night, and to be a part of that was a lot of fun.”
