Report: Sounders’ Sanna Nyassi scores in 3-1 Gambia win?

UPDATE 11:44 p.m. — Sounds like it might have been Sainey Nyassi that scored actually. The story linked to below has been taken down and this report says it was actually Sanna’s twin brother with the goal. Having seen pictures of the two together, it’s an easy mistake.

Seattle midfielder Sanna Nyassi has been a bit unlucky not to score for Sounders FC this season. In the opener he had a goal wrongfully disallowed for offside. Recently he’s had a number of scoring chances hit the post or go awry.

According to this game recap of today’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia, Nyassi got on the scoresheet to lead Gambia to a 3-1 win.

APA Banjul (The Gambia) The Gambia national soccer team, the Scorpions, on Saturday at the Independence Stadium in Banjul, outclassed the Brave Warriors of Namibia 3-1 in the ongoing 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying games.

The match that was attended by a sell out crowd, saw the Scorpions dominating the visitors and as a result The Gambia national team scored three goals in the first half.

The Gambian goals were scored by Momodou Ceesay, Ousman Jallow and Sana Nyassi.

Think Sanna might be seeing more international duty down the road?
