With football season here, so too is football weather. And on a cold, overcast, rainy afternoon Sounders FC held one last training session before a big home game against defending MLS champion Real Salt Lake tomorrow night.
Personnel continues to be the big issue and some news was positive. Sanna Nyassi is back from international duty. Mike Seamon, Nathan Sturgis and Nate Jaqua were all training in full and didn’t appear to be limited in any way. Also, a new face was around and I’m pretty sure it was this guy filling in as a third-string goalkeeper.
A couple others, however, are a bigger concern. James Riley wasn’t around and coach Sigi Schmid said he’ll be out 1-3 weeks with an ankle sprain. Blaise Nkufo’s knee is still bothering him and he’ll see a doctor today.
Let’s get to the shots:
* * *
1. Here Mike Seamon does some individual shooting work. Not bothered by the knee it seems.
2. Tyrone Marshall works with Jamel Wallace here. Sanna Nyassi seen in the background.
3. Nathan Sturgis also back in action. Should be ready to go against his former team.
4. The final drills (the only ones we can take pictures of) took place on the far side of the field.
