Sounders FC v. Real Salt Lake, pregame notes and lineups

rsl home.JPGOf course right when I’m taking the picture the Sounders FC flag decides to stop waving. Oh well, on a cool Thursday evening defending champion Real Salt Lake comes to town for a nationally televised game against Seattle at Qwest Field.

Both teams should be highly motivated to get the three points. The visitors are in the hunt for the Supporters’ Shield and Sounders FC needs to get a result for its playoff chances. It’s been a while since these teams played (remember that heartbreaking draw in the third game of the season?) but I expect a good one here.

We’ll see how personnel issues affect each team. Seattle’s mainstay at right back, James Riley, is out with a sprained ankle. Blaise Nkufo has also been troubled with a knee injury. On the other side, forward Fabian Espindola is banged up for Salt Lake and all-star defender Jamison Olave is suspended.

I’ll have lineups here when they become available. What are you looking forward to in this one?
