Soccer lovers listen up, a brilliant feature-length documentary on the beautiful game is coming to Seattle. “Pelada” is a story of a couple ex-collegiate players that travel to 25 countries around the world to find pick-up games. What they find along the way is spectacular and something only soccer can provide. Here’s a link to the trailer on the film’s website.
I’ve added the information for the screening below and I definitely recommend the film to anyone (heck it was the official selection at the 2010 South by Southwest film festival, that should say enough). It’s extremely well-made and thought-out. It pushes the boundaries around the soccer world and asks tough questions without pretending to have all the answers.
There are incredible experiences and compelling people along the journey. The passion for the game around the world — from people both young and old, rich and poor — is amazing to watch. I’m a soccer junkie and I loved it. I’m sure you will too.
