The picture above was taken and provided by Chris Coulter, who contributes his work to a handful of Sounders-related sites and has a very cool site of his own: SoundersPhotos.com.
As you can see, Brad Evans was out in training today and looks to be improving well. Sigi Schmid said they’ll take it slow with the midfielder — work him a few days and rest him some. Pat Noonan is also doing more and more, and Peter Vagenas looks healthy as well; signs that both of them could potentially contribute in CCL.
After frisbee it was back to normal training. The starters from the Columbus rout Saturday did some regeneration work on the side. The rest did some drills, scrimmaging and finishing. Word is the team will take a charter to Monterrey and then to Chicago later this week, which will only help with the crazy travel load. In case you forgot, Leo Gonzalez (red card) and Roger Levesque (yellow cards) will each be suspended Wednesday.
I’ll add one other picture from Coulter after the jump of the game-winning catch by Mike Fucito on a long pass from Nate Jaqua. There were some arguments of offensive pass-interference by Vagenas (taking out defender Zach Scott), but they let it go. Not sure why Alvaro Fernandez was celebrating the victory of the other team — maybe he was lobbying for a call on Vagenas — but it was all in good fun…
