One day to go before the Open Cup final and the Sounders put in a fairly light day of training. Mostly scrimmage work, set-piece practice and finishing drills. Pat Noonan was back in camp after successful hip surgery last week. He had some crutches but appeared to be doing fine and was in good spirits.
A couple guys from MLSsoccer.com, Simon Borg and Jason Saghini, were also around previewing tomorrow’s match. I was surprised more media wasn’t there, maybe it’s a calm before the storm.
In Sigi Schmid’s meeting with reporters he confirmed something he said a while back, that indeed his team would be in “electricity” yellow, thus forcing Columbus to wear black. Schmid also said Terry Boss will likely play Monday’s game for the Puerto Rican national team and fly into town Tuesday morning/afternoon in time for the final.
Here are some pics:

1. With cameras only permitted for the final drills, here what’s the scene looked like at the end.
2. Here’s Pat Noonan back home with his mates.
3. Mike Fucito was moving around a bit on that ankle, I wouldn’t anticipate him playing Tuesday.
4. Free kicks and set pieces have turned from a liability to a strength this season. With practice?
