An update on the Nate Jaqua-Open Cup medal story

jettmedal.jpgMeet Jett. He’s 6 years old. He was the lucky recipient of Sounders FC forward Nate Jaqua’s first-place medal after the U.S. Open Cup final Tuesday night.

His mom, Steph, sent me this photo along with Jett’s reaction to the surprising gift:

“He was so excited. He wanted to sleep with it that night. And then he wanted to bring it to school the next day to show all of his friends. He still every day says, ‘I can’t believe that happened.’ “

For all parties involved I’ll pass along one big final “Thanks Nate!”
